As a native New Englander, Autumn is by far one of my favorite seasons. The smell of the cool crisp morning air, the weekend drives up north in search of a random farm, the vibrant Fall foilage, remembering those "back to school" days & the smell of freshly sharpened pencils, apple picking, pumpkin carving, being able to pull my wool plaid polo sweater & burnt orange scarf from storage, the smell of cinnamon & pumpkin spice, soups, pies, baking, festivals, hot cider, football, warming up by a fire on those cool Fall evenings & roasting smores, walking through crackling leaves, Christmas being just around the corner, & of course, one of my favorite “American Holidays” Thanksgiving.

And so, it's clear to see, YES, I Love the Fall!

After moving to Italy about 2 years ago, I knew that it wasn't going to be so easy to forget the past 28 years of unforgettable Autumn memories in New England, but figured Umbria would definitely have much to offer in the "countryside" & "beautiful landscape" department.  However, although, I was willing to leave most of those New England memories behind, I was not willing to let one year of my life pass without celbrating Thanksgiving.  And so, I knew that one way or another I was going to find a way to

re-create this special Holiday.  I have to say, although, I knew it wasn’t going to be "so easy," especially when it came time to finding the traditional Thanksgiving ingredients in a country in which the Holiday is not celebrated, let alone even KNOWN ; ),

I didn't realize it was going to be almost impossible!
